Quebec City’s waterfront becomes a shared space where people and nature meet: a sustainable landscape along six miles of the St. Lawrence.

[ Scope of work ]

  • Masterplan
  • Landscape concept
  • Programme of public spaces
  • Competition boards
  1. 01

    Je me souviens

The contours of a shore change more slowly than the water. We read the banks as a record shaped by people, soil, the flow of the river, wildlife and wind. Quebec’s motto, “Je me souviens”, becomes a reminder that environmental decisions must account for all the inhabitants of a place.

  2. 02

    Masterplan

Ecological restoration, green infrastructure, places for recreation and better access to the river for the communities nearby. Pathways, public spaces and art installations turn the waterfront into a new focal point of the city.

  3. 03

    Co-creation

Residents can co-create the waterfront and adapt it to their needs. The approach holds at every scale – from the masterplan to a single art piece.
