Jabal Umm Nuthaylah: masterplan scheme, section and concept – the axis of Madinah, genius loci, a museum shaped by nature, two wings and one landscape

A volcano on a direct visual axis with the sacred city. The masterplan opens like two wings and leaves the silhouette untouched; the museum is set into the crater, where architecture and geology become one.

[ Scope of work ]

  • Reading of the harrat: cones, lava fields, drainage
  • Masterplan and visitor routes
  • Museum in the crater, viewpoints
  • Design narrative and application portfolio
