Codroipo’s main sports district becomes a contemporary urban campus, where sport, culture and everyday life come together.

Masterplan
Fragmented facilities, schools and landscape are reconnected into one continuous network of public spaces. A pedestrian and cycling spine links the educational cluster in the north with natural areas and open fields in the south; “sports squares” along it keep the district alive beyond training hours and competitions.

Three areas
Area A – the main public entrance: a sports plaza with an equipped play area, an amphitheatre and a civic square. Area B – a community courtyard next to the high school, with picnic areas, a basketball court, an open-air cinema and a flexible food market. Area C – a new multipurpose gym for indoor sports that converts for performances and public events.

The gym
Its curved form is inspired by the magnolia. Petal-like extensions of the roof give shade and sheltered outdoor space for the region’s hot summers.

Landscape
Tree-lined paths, permeable surfaces, shaded rest areas and ecological buffers strengthen the links to Roggia San Odorico and Durigat Urban Park. The aim is to make the sports district Codroipo’s civic heart, supporting community identity and healthy lifestyles.
